Working with a team of like-minded people who have a clear goal in sight gives me drive and passion for what I do. Having the opportunity to make change, coupled with the strong support network to make this happen makes every day different.
I have been with EEUK for over 5 years now. Previous to this I studied music technology at Keele University, but never found an opportunity to pursue the avenue I wished to go down. After studying, my life took an unexpected turn when I found out I was going to have my first child, so I took any work I could get my hands on.
I settled for a job working for a company where I eventually left due to a grievance with my manager. I was out of work with a family to feed. Fortunately, I was invited to join EEUK on a temporary contract carrying out administrative duties. After my 3 months came to an end, management were appreciative of the work I did and offered me a full-time role. During my time the business has grown rapidly, and I now lead a team heading up sales administration.
What I enjoy about working for an organisation like EEUK is its focus on quality to its customers, and its continual investment in its people. Being given the opportunity to do on-the-job training makes work life more interesting and opens avenues to learn more about the business. I was offered a course doing a NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration, where I received all the support I needed from my manager to allow me to structure my studies around my work diary.
Before coming to EEUK I never gave much thought into workplace health and safety however my outlook has changed. A few years back, a close childhood friend was involved in an accident at work and unfortunately due to his injuries sadly passed. As I learn more about the industry it gives me confidence that the services’ we provide hopefully prevents accidents like this happening to someone else.
