    COSHH Risk Assessment

Scroll down for more

A COSHH risk assessment concentrates on reviewing the risks from hazardous substances in the workplace. All routes of exposure must be identified which may include inhalation, ingestion, absorption, and injection. Employers need to make sure the exposure of their staff to hazardous substances is prevented or adequately controlled.

How we can help

Our expert team carry out COSHH risk assessments to evaluate the hazards in your workplace and decide on safety measures. We will identify which substances are harmful, who is at risk and how – once the COSHH risk assessment is complete, we will help you to prevent future exposure to employees in your workplace. This could include exploring safer alternatives to hazardous substances or changing certain processes to reduce risks.

To carry out an effective COSHH risk assessment, access to the following is required:

  • Safety Data Sheets relevant to the substances used for each process – these should not be any older than five years old
  • Operating procedures/an understanding of each relevant task carried out during the process
  • Information regarding the current control measures adopted – this relates to engineering controls and the types of personal protection equipment (PPE) used
  • Information on employee concerns and/or instances of adverse health issues
  • Results of any previous monitoring

We make sure our industrial and commercial clients across the country are meeting relevant assessment guidelines to make sure your workplace is protected from hazardous substances.

Historically, we have had LEV monitoring done by EEUK, but this was before I joined the company. Since I have been in this role, I have engaged EEUK to do fibre count monitoring on a kiln and we are planning a noise survey too. I have already received the RAMS pack for this job to review prior to the survey which is fabulous, I normally spend a large proportion of time when working with contractors trying to get this information.

EHS Officer

NOVARES Peterlee Ltd

In the past we have struggled to find the right company to work with to carry out our Legionella risk assessments. However, since finding EEUK we have not looked back – they have great knowledge of the water treatment industry and provide excellent solutions with their technical expertise. They are an open and honest organisation which always put the customer first, providing a quality and efficient service that far outweighs the previous water treatment suppliers we’ve had.

QHSE Manager

Greencore Group

We have had a long relationship with EEUK due to the quality of the reports that I receive after a visit from EEUK consultants. There is always a very easy to digest summary, but still lots of detail. Another reason is their friendly approach – we have built up a personal relationship, which means that managing the work is made so much easier.
