Environmental Noise

Environmental noise is the summary of noise pollution from outside, caused by transport, industrial and recreational activities. Noise is frequently described as 'unwanted sound', and, within this context, environmental noise is generally present in some form in all areas of. The actual assessments are carried out in line with your planning permission, your environmental permit, BS4142: 2014, Environmental Protection Act 1990,WHO Guidelines for Community Noise, BS8233: 1999 and as a result of any complaint you may have had from nearby residents.

The objectives of the survey are:

  • to identify monitoring locations
  • to undertake non-consecutive noise measurements at all locations
  • provide LAeq, LAmax, LAmin, LA90, LA50, LA10 for each location
  • provide octave or ⅓-octave analysis for each location
