Hand Arm Vibration
Vibration induced medical conditions can occur by working with vibrating tools such as grinders and drills, which cause damage to nerves, blood vessels and joints of the hand, wrist and arm. Workers who use hand-held power tools for prolonged periods are at risk of developing a health condition, particularly Hand-arm Vibration Syndrome.
It is the employer’s responsibility to make sure the risk from exposure to hand-arm vibration is eliminated or reduced and employees at risk are placed under health surveillance.
Our qualified consultants will visit your premises and assess whether your employees are exposed to hand arm vibration above the exposure action value of 2.5m/s2 or 5m/s2. We will provide support to help you meet safety regulations and carry out health surveillance on at-risk employees, as well as establishing vibration levels for the tools you use.
We will make sure your business is complying with the relevant safety laws to avoid any preventable medical conditions.
