    PUWER Assessment

Scroll down for more

PUWER stands for the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (1999 in Northern Ireland). The PUWER regulations deal with the work equipment and machinery used every day in workplaces. It aims to keep people safe wherever equipment and machinery is used at work. PUWER replaces the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1992, carrying forward the existing requirements with several changes and additions.

PUWER regulations aim to make working life safer for everyone who uses and encounters machinery and equipment including employers, employees, contractors, suppliers, and anyone else who might use or have access to machinery in the workplace. The PUWER regulations aim to ensure that all equipment is:

  • Suitable for its intended purpose
  • Regularly maintained to ensure safety
  • Only used by people who have received adequate training
  • Inspected by a competent worker

Testimonials

Greencore Group

We have had a long relationship with EEUK due to the quality of the reports that I receive after a visit from EEUK consultants. There is always a very easy to digest summary, but still lots of detail. Another reason is their friendly approach – we have built up a personal relationship, which means that managing the work is made so much easier.

Health & Safety Manager

Newbridge Energy

EEUK have been consummate professionals from the outset. They are always keen to help and quick to offer advice on all queries. We have used EEUK for LEV servicing, Fire Risk assessments and DSEAR risk assessments. Their support team are very helpful, and this is reflected in their onsite services. I can whole heartedly recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable, professional and friendly company.

Graduate Health and Safety Engineer

Venator

Historically, we have had LEV monitoring done by EEUK, but this was before I joined the company. Since I have been in this role, I have engaged EEUK to do fibre count monitoring on a kiln and we are planning a noise survey too. I have already received the RAMS pack for this job to review prior to the survey which is fabulous, I normally spend a large proportion of time when working with contractors trying to get this information.
